About The Founder

Attitude Change Training Program ( A.C.T.P.) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, dedicated to promoting growth for at-risk youth, young adults for self-sufficiency. Our program helps kids to raise self-esteem and promote ethics and build their confidence in the youth to develop successful life skills. One mission was to teach the kids the 4T’s Take Time To Think where they can change their attitudes/behavior and realize that they do have a choice in the things they say and do. Thought-out Ricky’s life he has been working with at-risk youth, young adults, and adults with concerns about their attitude/behavior problems. He too was one of those kids. In 1984, Ricky began coaching boys football with kids ages from 7-to 15 in Pop Warner Football with the Berkeley Cougars.  He coached with the Berkeley Cougars for thirteen years. He and his staff coached up to thirty-five per year teaching them the skills and football techniques. Many of these young athletes had attitude and behavior problems. Ricky coached at McClymonds High School in Oakland, Ca, coaching the Junior Varsity, football team from 1996 to 1999 working with Head Coach Alonzo Carter who is now the Assistant Head Coach at San Jose State University.

During those few years he continued to work with at-risk youth with attitude/behavior problems, these experiences inspired Ricky to further his education in the counseling field. In April 2012, Ricky met with Dr. Lisa Hill, the superintendent at Camp Sweeney, a juvenile facility in San Leandro, California. Dr. Hill allowed Ricky to start the A.C.T.P.
